一、offer的用法

1、offer用作动词的基本意思是“主动拿出”,可指主动提供某事物供考虑、接受或拒绝,或为某物出价,也可指主动提出建议、意见等。还可表示“主动做(某事)”。

2、offer作“动提供,主动提出; 出价”解时,用作及物动词时,接名词、代词或动词不定式作宾语,也可接双宾语,其间接宾语可以转化为介词to的宾语, offer有时还可接以as短语充当补足语的复合宾语,此时的宾语通常为反身代词。

3、offer作“表示愿意”解时,既可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。 用作及物动词时,通常只接动词不定式作宾语。

二、provide的用法

1、provide用作及物动词时,可表示“提供,供给,供应,装备”,后可接名词或代词作简单宾语; 还可接双宾语,常用介词for引出间接宾语,也可用介词with引出直接宾语,有时with可省略。

2、provide还可表示法律、规章、协议等的“规定”,往往作为条件提出使之能按照某人的.意愿或某种规则履行,后常接that引起的从句,从句中可以用shall, should, must, may, ought to等,用should,must, ought to时,语气较重,用may时,语气较轻,用shall时,指当前,语气一般,也可用虚拟语气。
